Last night marked the first time in nearly 4 years that I played music with Ty and Lance, both of whom were in the bang-tango Second String Bluegrass Band with me. We met up at Asheville’s Shindig On The Green, a weekly pickin’ party and bluegrass concert attended by a couple thousand people.

It took a few songs for me to dust off the cobwebs from my fingers, but I quickly found myself back into the flow of playing my Banjo. We were graced by the presence of Wayne Erbsen, old-time/bluegrass musician extraordinaire, who accompanied us with his award-winning fiddle playing. It was a great 3 hours, and made me want to start getting back into the banjo again.

We were asked to get onstage and perform for the crowd, but we all felt a little iffy about that, so we declined. Maybe next week 😉

It looks like importing all of my posts from Geekamongus will be difficult, to say the least. Really though, I can live with that, as this gives me a chance to start fresh. Much of the Geekamongus content wouldn’t have made much sense here anyway.

Now the tasks left at hand are setting up a new image gallery and making this place look better.

I gotta say, I am highly impressed with this WordPress software so far…

I have finally turned this site into a blog. The infamous Geekamongus will soon be archived and moved here for your historical pleasure. However, don’t count on seeing my fingernail clipping collection, as I have moved past that stage in my life. I recently started collecting my son’s fingernail clippings instead.

Yes, this page looks crappy so far, but I’ll get it down to something more enjoyable shortly.

The big news of the day is that my article on Mozilla Firefox 0.9 went live today at Digital Web Magazine. I am excited to be published for the first time, especially next to people whom I consider gods and goddesses in the Internet realm, and look forward to continuing my writing endeavors. Read the article and let me know what y’all think.

Now…I’m off to convert 3 years worth of B2 posts to WordPress…wish me luck 😉

I got enough email about bringing back the toenail and fingernail collection that I did it. What the heck…I will wave my freak flag high. If people don’t like the fact that I collect my fingernails, there is something wrong with them, not me.

So enjoy them once again. It’s all in the name of fun.

Edit:
Due to some of the remarks I found on some discussion forums regarding my nail collection and what people would do to me if they ever saw me on the street, I decided to remove the pictures. Some people seem to take the fact that I collect my fingernails way too seriously and have no sense of humor. Because of these people, the pictures are gone. Threats on my life are not worth it.

Some people obviously missed the point and think I need to be slapped. Some people think I collect other people’s nails. Some people think I’m a weird creep. I might argue with the creep part.

I need to set the record straight: They are all my nails. No one else’s. Licking someone else’s nails would be gross.

Anyway, I will keep you dear readers posted on this developing situation.

OK…you have spoken and I have heard. I have included the goat for all of you Internet Explorer users out there. Please let me know if this is more suitable. I have also reworked the layout to be a little more friendly and usable. I will probably do this some more as I look at the site over the next few days.

As a side note, some people commented to me about not wanting to have to use Netscape, as it is a lame browser. I used to agree with this view whole-heartedly. However, Netscape has taken some major leaps in a good direction since it came out with it’s version 6.2. In fact, their browser does a much better job of displaying standard-compliant code than does IE. You really should check it out.

Mozilla is another browser that is very good at displaying things as it should. Thier 1.0 release is awesome, and I have been using it a lot more than IE lately. What’s more, it will imnport all of your IE bookmarks and settings. Yeehaw.
